What is the list of major Forex currency pairs?
There is disagreement among traders on the definition of the major Forex currency pairs, but most traders agree on the euro, the yen, the pound, and the franc. Some even consider currencies that have the US dollar, the euro and the British pound on one side to be the main currency pairs. But the cases we mentioned account for the largest volume of transactions in this market, namely:
- EUR / USD
- USD / JPY
- GBP / USD
- USD / CHF
Euro USD / USD
The euro / US dollar, known as the “King of Forex”, is the most traded currency pair in the world, ordering 23% of FX trades in 2016. The euro and the US dollar represent the two largest economies in the world, the US economy and the economy. European Union.
The popularity of EUR / USD ensures a wide trading volume. Large volumes lead to a reduction in the price difference between the purchase price and the sale price and ultimately reduce the spread.
USD / JPY

This Forex currency pair has similarities to EUR / USD. Both are highly correlated due to the correlation of the British economy with the European Union. Traders have very good spreads in GBP / USD due to high liquidity.
Swiss Franc USD / CHF
The USD / CHF, nicknamed “Swissy”, derives its popularity from the status of a safe haven in Switzerland. When risk / volatility enters the market, traders use the Swiss franc because the Swiss economy is less risky.
